Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional holiday that falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in China. This festival has a history of more than 2,000 years. It commemorates the death of the famous poet and statesman Qu Yuan who lived in the Warring States period of ancient China.

On this day, people traditionally eat Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) wrapped in bamboo leaves and race dragon boats. The Dragon Boat Race is a popular activity where teams paddle furiously to the beat of drums, competing to reach the finish line first.

The festival also features other customs such as wearing fragrant sachets, hanging mugwort leaves on doors, and drinking realgar wine. These traditions are meant to ward off evil spirits and protect people from illness during the hot summer months.
